For your health and that of Mother Earth stop using air fresheners including plug ins. Most fresheners contain chemicals that numb your sinuses so you can’t smell the odors. They cause sinus infections, headaches and polyps to name but a few physical ailments. Instead try boiling food grade distilled white vinegar with a drop of your favorite organic essential oil or a bit of cinnamon to freshen the kitchen and entire house. Herbs like basil or lavender leafs dropped into plants give a lift to living areas as does cinnamon sticks.
