Petroleum Distillates
Paint companies advise against the use of any wax or protectant that contains petroleum after the VOC regulations eliminated the use of lead in paint in 2003. Lead made paint hard so oxidation was slow to develop.
Paints generally have a polyurethane or Chroma base which makes a 'softer' paint than lead based paints. That means the paint oxidizes faster if not properly cared for. If wax or a protectant contains petroleum distillate, it will oxidize the paint rapidly.
We have formulated a protectant to be free of petroleum distillates, silicone and carnauba wax that can damage the boat’s finish. No wonder we call it Advantage. Use Advantage on your boat, RV, tow vehicle, airplane, van or truck or motorcycle without fear of deteriorating the sealant, scratching the finish or damaging the decals, stripes, signs or lettering.
